Description

What is Juneteenth? Also known as Freedom Day, it commemorates the announcement on June 19, 1865 of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America. Coracle invites you to a special day of service commemorating this occasion as well as giving the community a chance to help improve and care for the Corhaven Graveyard. All are invited to participate as we care for the wooden fencing and benches on site within the graveyard along with other projects. Please wear clothes that you can get dirty.  Options for work tasks include staining the wooden structures around the graveyard including benches and frences, clearing brush and paths to the graveyard, and other tasks as necessary.  Lunch will be provided.  Please register by June 8th so that we can get an accurate head count for lunch!
