Explore major DC sites through the lens of social justice. Examine Christopher Columbus and First Nations of DC while touring Union Station. Experience a different side to the National Mall as a historic protest site, the site of historic slave markets, and the home to the Japanese American Internment Memorial.
Join us for a time of history, remembrance, and appreciation for a more hidden side of our Nation's capital.
Details from our Guide, Kate Denson, of DC Justice Walks:
- Meet up & Tour Start: The Columbus Statue in front of Union Station
- Tour End: Top of Capitol Hill (by the Supreme Court). I can walk you back to Union Station if you like.
- Distance: We will walk between 3 and 3.5 miles so wear comfortable shoes. We'll go rain or shine so dress appropriately!
- Parking is available near Union Station. There is also street parking in DC but pay attention to signs, time limits, and meters! There's a street behind the Supreme Court (1st St SE) that has unrestricted, free parking Saturday mornings– but that's slightly risky. I recommend Union station!
Registration is capped at 15, so RESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE!
