Description

Vesna Tift, a Christian from birth, was raised in the faith under the atheist regime of Josip Broz Tito, leader of former Yugoslavia.  She lived through and on the front lines of the intensely violent conflicts of the region in the early to mid-1990s.  She was a refugee and witnessed firsthand the widespread death and violence that her people suffered.  In the years following, she ministered to young adults and children who also suffered trauma from these conflicts– specifically creating programs to promote dialogue between youth from opposing sides of the conflict.

Vesna has graciously offered to join us for an interview, moderated by Bill Haley, and share lessons she has learned about what it means to truly forgive and reconcile with people on different sides of a major and entrenched conflict.  We hope her story and our conversation together will help us all better understand the significant tensions in our own country and how we might be reconcilers in the midst of those tensions.
