Description

We live in the midst of striking and often painful national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences.  In this context, what might a coherent vision of Christianity– one that holds our spiritual and social lives together– look like?

Please join us for a Soundings Seminar with Rev. Ben Petty (MTS and parochial vicar at St. Mary's Landover Hills, MD) and Rev. Bill Haley (Coracle Executive Director) on the seven themes of Catholic social teaching

These include:

  1. The life and dignity of the human person,
  2.  The call to family, community, and participation,
  3.  Rights and responsibilities,
  4.  Putting the needs of the poor and vulnerable first,
  5.  The dignity of work and the rights of workers,
  6.  Care for God's Creation, and
  7.  Solidarity and unity in a shrinking world.

Join us for an afternoon of basic introduction and conversation around these themes and teachings from the Catholic church and how they can aid anyone in thinking about a holistic, biblical view of serving Christ in a broken world.  Bring your questions and help sharpen our discussion!
